![]() Career Ladder PlanThe Arizona Career Ladder Program represents an effort by the Arizona State Legislature to improve the quality of teaching and learning in our public schools. In addition to Tolleson Elementary, there are 27 other districts in the state who also receive direct funding from this program. The Tolleson Elementary School District Career Ladder Plan provides financial incentives to teachers who voluntarily participate in and successfully complete the requirements of the TESD Career Ladder. The Career Ladder Coordinator and the Career Ladder Steering Committee are responsible for implementing the plan. For more information on the Career Ladder Program, please see our overview. Proposition 301Proposition 301 is a voter-approved special sales tax benefiting public schools in Arizona that was passed in the November, 2000 election. Forty percent of the monies allocated to each school district must be set aside for a performance-based pay plan. The first year of implementation of this plan was the 2001-2002 school year. Incorporated into the plan are school goals, grade level/department goals, and individual portfolios. The 301 Coordinator and a Steering Committee representing all schools within the District implement the plan. Participation in the TESD 301 Performance-Based Pay Plan School and Grade Level Goals is mandatory; participation in the Individual Portfolio Component is voluntary.
