Our Story

  • Stella’s Farmers Market is our Free Food distribution I started in May 2016 and named after one of our Associates who lost her battle against Cancer in March 2016. Stella Robles worked in the kitchen of Tolleson Elementary school for over 40years. To start the mobile pantry I had to go through interviews, inspection and lots of requirements. When approved and given the opportunity to name the mobile pantry I had no better way to continue Stella’s legacy of serving the Tolleson community.

We have our free food Distribution twice a month with partnership with St. Mary’s Food bank who donates the food and it is distributed and mandated by volunteers on Saturday mornings. We have students, teachers, administrators, families and our very own kitchen workers who are constantly here each time. Our Free Food distribution opens at 7am and close at 9am.

Our distribution is a drive through distribution families don’t even after get out of their cars. We ask them to open up their trunks and we load up for them. We load about 3 cars per minute. We also have a walk up area for those that don’t have a vehicle.

We do not request any Identification and you do not have to live in Tolleson to participate, it is open to all. We ask few questions, number of household members, amount of Children within the Household and Zip code.
