• Safe Return to Learn Migitation Plan

The Tolleson Elementary School District has developed the following documents to communicate the practices and strategies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the 2020-2021 school year.  Our goal is to optimize education and promote health and safety, while mitigating risk for our students, staff and our community. Once the health metrics are met, and it is deemed safe to  return to the school buildings, families will choose from two learning models for students:  In-Person Instruction or continue in Distance Learning. Both are outlined in the Safe Return to Learn Plan.

The TESD COVID-19 Mitigation Plan is informed by the recommendations from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), as well as state and local government officials.  In addition, the TESD COVID-19 Mitigation Plan has been reviewed and certified by Healthy Verify, an independent, medically based, medical team to ensure our strategies are sound in minimizing the risk of the COVID-19 virus. Given the dynamic nature of the pandemic, plans are subject to be adapted, following any updates from the above mentioned groups.
