Letter to the Community - July 15, 2024

Dear Tolleson ESD Families & Community,

As we look to the first day of school on Wednesday, July 31 with great anticipation, I want to share some important information with you and thank some of our partners who are helping us prepare for the 2024–2025 school year.

The Tolleson Community Coalition is hosting an Internet Safety Workshop for Parents and Teens on July 18 at Blessed Sacrament Big Hall located at 512 North 93rd Avenue, Tolleson, AZ 85353. This event is open to the public and aims to educate families on how to stay safe online. For all the details, please visit the workshop’s page. The Internet Safety Workshop will be presented by Officer Obed Gaytan.

Thank you to all the teams and our maintenance and operations staff who are working on projects that will enhance our campuses. Thank you to Arizona Council on Economic Education, PayPal, Costco, and Taylor Farms for donations of backpacks for our students. We are incredibly grateful for all your support! Thank you! To receive backpacks for your children, please contact your school office.

Just a reminder that Meet the Teacher Night is Monday, July 29 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on all four of our campuses: Arizona Desert, Desert Oasis, Porfirio H. Gonzales, and Sheely Farms Elementary Schools.

I look forward to seeing our students, families, teachers and staff soon!

Sincerely,

Dr. Lupita Hightower
Treasure Hunter & Superintendent
