National Board Certification
Every student deserves to be taught by an accomplished teacher. National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in K–12 education.
Grounded in the National Board Standards, the National Board Five Core Propositions describe what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do to have a positive impact on student learning. National Board Certification identifies teachers who meet those standards through a performance-based, peer-reviewed series of assessment components.
Tolleson Elementary School District is committed to supporting teachers seeking National Board Certification by providing available funds for certification at different levels.
