Connecting Through Music

Under the direction of Mr. Efrain Casillas, students at our Desert Oasis and Porfirio H. Gonzales campuses amplify their culture and honor their ancestors by learning traditional Mariachi music of Mexico, which creates special connections with family both near and far.

CMA Music Teacher of Excellence

Mr. Casillas received the prestigious CMA Music Teacher of Excellence award for his unique “superpower” of “breaking down walls.” “He is committed to searching for all the talents, skills, and intelligence that exists in all children. This makes him not only a top-notch teacher but a true champion for youth.”
