Letter to the Community - August 30, 2023

Dear Tolleson ESD Families & Community,

Thank you to all our families for engaging in our Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) meetings and to our educators for planning and leading these very important meetings. We had a fabulous turnout and are confident that together we are focused on our core belief: All Children are Capable of Success – No Exceptions! If for any reason you did not have the ability to attend your child’s APTT, please reach out to the teacher to schedule. Let’s also all stay focused on great student attendance and engagement knowing it also will turn our core belief into reality!

I am beyond honored and excited to share with you that our very own Mr. Efrain Casillas is now one of five finalists for Arizona Teacher of the Year by Arizona Educational Foundation.

Previously I shared with you that he was one of 15 nominees, and last week they announced the five finalists. Mr. Casillas is among the five. The Arizona Teacher of the Year will be announced at their event on October 14. For all the details, visit the Arizona Education Foundation website.

We are honored to have Mr. Casillas in our district as he is a shining example of the very best in public education. Our treasures, our families, and our entire team benefit from his greatness! Please join me in congratulating Mr. Casillas!
