Letter to the Community - September 5, 2023

Dear Tolleson ESD Families & Community;

I hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful, long holiday weekend celebrating Labor Day! We are very grateful for all our teachers and staff and their dedication and incredible work!

Thanks to all of you who participated in our Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) Meetings. I just want to remind anyone who did not have the opportunity to attend that all you need to do is reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a meeting. It is never too late to engage, and we strongly encourage and welcome your involvement!

I want to highlight a few important dates upcoming dates:

  • Wednesday, September 13 is a professional development day for teachers and staff. Our schools will be closed.
  • Thursday and Friday, October 5 and 6 are parent/teacher conferences. These are early release days for our students.
  • Monday through Friday, October 9 through 11 is fall break and our schools will be closed.

Every day is a full day of teaching and learning, and I cannot stress enough how important it is for our students to be in attendance every single day. Strong student attendance is of great importance to ensure All Children are Capable of Success – No Exceptions! Thank you for making this a top priority for your children!

Sincerely,

Dr. Lupita Hightower
